Academic Council

The Academic Council scrutinizes and approves the proposals with or without modification of the Boards of Studies with regard to courses of study, academic regulations, curricula, syllabi, instructional and evaluation arrangements, methods and procedures. Where the Academic Council differs, it may return the proposal for reconsideration or reject it with reasons.
Makes regulations regarding admission of students to different programmes of study, keeping in view Government policy, and frames regulations for sports, extra-curricular activities, playgrounds and hostels.
Recommends to the Governing Body proposals for institution of new programmes of study.
Recommends institution of scholarships, studentships, fellowships, prizes and medals and frames regulations for their award.
Advises the Governing Body on academic matters and suggestions pertaining to academic affairs.
Performs such other functions as may be assigned by the Governing Body.
